Minutes of the Special Council Meeting
January 21, 2004
City Hall Annex Building, 186 Branham Way
Mayor Sullivan called the meeting to order at 10:03 am with the following Council members present: Sam Beichler, Joetta Calhoun, Lloyd Dooley, Sid Griffin and Ralph Lutes. Councilman Lutes left the meeting at 10:30am.
Also present were City Clerk Christi Franklin, City Attorney Rodney Burress and Bullitt County Economic Development Administrator Bob Fouts.
Ralph Lutes introduced and the Council held first reading of an ordinance relating to the temporary sale of or display of motor vehicles within the City. Discussion followed.
Bob Fouts discussed basic economic development guidelines. He discussed how a business is recruited, questions from potential businesses and customs of foreign businesses. He also discussed items the City needs to work on to promote the business park as follows: invite realtors to the business park, prepare marketing materials both in writing and on the City’s web page, write letters to companies in conjunction with the marketing materials, obtain a marketing list from the state to mail materials to those companies, and have incentive guidelines in place. Discussion followed.

There being no further business before the Council, Joetta Calhoun made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:14am. Sid Griffin seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
